Who We Are

The Greater Boston Reading Council is a professional non-profit organization whose membership is dedicated to promoting literacy and best teaching practices in reading.  GBC is one of eleven Massachusetts councils and serves the Greater Boston area. Membership is open to teachers, administrators, consultants, advocates,  parents, and all others interested in promoting literacy as a life-long learning practice. Meetings, special events, newsletters, the website, and networking are some of the ways members can learn and share about literacy.   Greater Boston Reading Council is affiliated with the Massachusetts Reading Association (MRA) and the International Literacy Association (ILA).
